I finally returned to Shanghai this last week and it has been a busy week of finishing filming with HuaYi brothers, interviewing with Shganghai TV magazine, and appearing as a guest star on the new family game show “Quanjia dou lai sai.”  My “family” for the day were a lot of fun to work with and they are all really talented.  Dad 吴森培 Mom 陈维平 brother 吴玺铭 and sister-in-law 周儒瑜 can all dance Latin Ballroom and they all competed in Wulin Dahui

我上周回到上海，便开始忙起来，完成华谊兄弟的电视剧拍摄，接受上海电视的采访，以明星嘉宾的身份参加“全家都来赛”。我和那天的“家庭”一起非常愉快，他们都很有天赋。爸爸吴森培，妈妈陈维平，哥哥吴玺铭，嫂子周儒瑜，他们都会跳拉丁，并且都参加了舞林大会。

 

This was our competition for the day…QingQing and YingYing. They are two best friends (although they will tell you they are twins) and they are 5 years old and 4 1/2years old (the extra 1/2year is very important and she want forget to mention it : )

I have been having so much fun spending time with my family for Christmas and New Year’s that I have neglected updating my blog.  So I thought I’d post some pictures just to let you all know how I’m doing and how much fun this holiday has been.

It’s been a busy past few days trying to finish up filming all my scenes in time to go home for Christmas.  I’m starting to see more and more the difficulties of being an actor and filming for a big drama series.  It’s not uncommon to start your day at 4:30 a.m. for hair and make-up and then film till all hours of the night.  But I love it!

为了回家过圣诞节，过去的几天我都忙于完成自己所有镜头的拍摄。作为一名演员，并在一部大型电视剧中演出，我体会到越来越多的困难。清晨4：30开始作发型、化妆，然后一直拍摄到深夜，这是很不一般的。但是我爱它！

Almost all of my scenes are with Che Xiao, and we had a lot of fun filming together. Life is always so much more fun when you like the people you work with and you can have your own inside jokes and enjoy your time together.

我所有的戏几乎都和车晓一起，我们一起拍摄有很多的乐趣。当你喜欢你的工作伙伴，那么生活总是充满着无穷乐趣，同时你们还会有自己的内部笑话，度过快乐的时光。

I’ve been really busy lately filming for “I love you so I’m leaving you” trying to finish up all my scenes in time for Christmas.  But I promised that I would share some pictures, so here they are : )

Last week was Thanksgiving in America, so first of all I want to wish you all a late Happy Thanksgiving : )  I've come to think more and more that gratitude is an important part of a happy life, so I'm grateful for a holiday that reminds us to be grateful.  But for me and many other Americans, one of the best parts about Thanksgiving is that it marks the beginning of Christmas!!!  : )  Starting on Thanksgiving day we start listening to all our Christmas music and you can feel the anticipation of Christmas in the air.

Ok, I can't begin to describe how excited I am for Christmas this year.  I seriously feel like a little kid again just thinking about it.  In grade school we used to make paper-chains to count down the days till Christmas, I've not gone that far this year, but I am definitely counting down the days.

Starting next week I will be filming the new Hua Yi Brother's TV drama series “I Love You, so I am Leaving You.”  I am really excited to work with Hua Yi Brother's on this project.  After guest starring in a number of roles on various sit-coms and TV shows, this is my first more substantial role in a TV drama series.  This role will also be a fun challenge for me because my character is a young CEO of an advertising company with different relationship issues and life experiences that I have not experienced in my life, but that is part of what makes acting fun.

One of the many things that I love about living in Shanghai is that there are always amazing concerts and performances to go too.  Not only do I get to go to see a lot of the touring Broadway shows that I love, but occasionally I also get to see some of my favorite artists live in concert.

喜欢呆在上海，其中一个原因在于上海有太多美妙的演唱会和表演。我不但可以去看很多喜欢的百老汇巡回表演，不时地还能去听听钟爱艺人的演唱会。

This last week I got to see the Zhang Hui Mei Concert on Saturday night and then the Beyonce concert on Monday.  I have to say that I was very impressed with both of them.  I actually didn’t know a lot of A Mei’s music before going to her concert, but after seeing her live I have a lot of respect for her and like her more.

I was recently invited to be the guest star for the pilot episode of “Shanghai Quest”, a new TV show scheduled to air for the launch of Shanghai TV’s new international station.  As many of you have probably heard, the new international station will be Shanghai’s first English speaking TV station, so it is exciting to be able to be a part of this historical event.

The pilot episode of Shanghai Quest, in addition to showing clips from the same-titled documentary about my first 6 months in China, will also include a studio interview and discussion about the successes and troubles of my entertainment career in China so far and my future plans.  You’ll also see my first ever guitar performance after learning for just over a month so you won’t want to miss that.  It takes a bold person to make their first performance ever be on national tv : )  Shanghai TV’s new international channel is scheduled to launch at the beginning of the year, so make sure to stay tuned.

It’s already been a week since the long break for National Day.  I hope that everyone had a nice rest and are now getting settled back into work and school : )  I never got to share the rest of my pictures from my trip to Guang Xi, so I thought I would put them on here.

The landscape, mountains, and lakes in Gui Ping were stunning. I love the city life in Shanghai and the fast pace of living in a business capital of the world, but ever so often it is so refreshing to go back to nature.  As I breathed the fresh air and soaked in the beauty of the surroundings I was further convinced that nature is healing to the soul.

桂平的风景，山水都是极其美好的。我喜欢上海的生活，喜欢在世界商业中心的快节奏生活，但是回归自然的感觉是那么的轻松。呼吸着新鲜的空气，沉浸在周围的美景中，我深深的相信，自然是灵魂的复原。

The past few days I spent in Guang Xi with the Shanghai Movie Company for the donation and foundation-laying ceremony of the Xin Yang Shi Rui Hope Elementary School (新阳诗睿希望小学).  The picture below is a candid shot from when a bunch of the students surrounded me with their bunches of flowers.  I think that the joy and smiles on their faces represent the hope that life offers each of us regardless of our circumstances.
