1、Nothing could be further from the truth.
Upon our departure, everyone told
everyone else 'Xin Ku' which means (roughly) you worked
hard.
Nothing could be further from the truth是一个好句子,

At Cosycorner tonight Alice asked me how to speak
English well.  Her original question sounded quite
exaggerative and it is definately awkward for me to
mention it here, or people would think that I am trying
to show off.  But anyhow, learning English is not easy,
to say the least.  Learning it well is extremely
difficult.  It takes personal interest and persistence.
Lacking either of these two, nobody would learn it truly
well.

There is of course different criteria to assess whether
somebody speaks good English, and how good it is.  So we
are not to judget people, but to feel comfortable when
we speak.  I believe everybody has a minimum
self-assessment criteria of their English ability.  They
hear and evaluate their own skill as they t

I've been thinking about marrying a moderately-educated girl,

or to go straight, one who has only primary school education.

Many of my friends strongly object to this idea, which they labeled

as 'crazy' and 'mentally insane'! I am afraid that I cannot

second their opinion.

To my knowledge, a wife does not have to be
well-educated to be a good wife, and vise versa.  The
so-called 'birds of one feather fly together' does not
make its reasonable argumen

The American Passion(2009-12-13 00:02)

I've met many Americans, old or young, men or women.
They share something unique that is not easily seen in
Chinese people--passion, the passion towards life.  The
American nation is one that truly lives out their own life,
not others'.  Therefore we often see them laughing
out loud in a public setting, or jogging along a busy
street.  They would not care how they will be judged, as
they don't like to judge.

Tonight at HCCH (High Connection Coffee House
I saw three Americans that convinced me
of this belief.  Their passionate behaviors stirred up
everyone in the room.  They led us to sin

Cynical Thoughts(2009-12-12 23:45)

Isn't it terrible when one turns too sophisticated,
knowing everything under the sun and having gone through
tons of experiences? It looks fabulous that he would be
able to bring most of things under control.  Nevertheless,
I don't think he is perfect because he would have lost
the ability to be young.  Yes, he would be old
spiritually even though he may look young.

I prefer to be young in the heart.  I do not care how I
am going to be judged.  I am rejoicing with my own soul
in my own world.  It is a true world I so truthfully
cherish.  And I would not regret at the end of my
life--I've lived this life being a person of my own,
rather than one that is like everybody else.

No More Crush=Maturity?(2009-12-12 23:18)

I am an emotional person.  Many people said that I have
a low EQ, which literally means that I am unable to
control my emotions.  It is true.  I easily fell into a
crush with a girl.  And it came fast and disappeared
quickly if there was no positive response.  Over the
years this crush-and-go model went on and on, until
there came a sign that it was not so strong any more.  I
still get into a crush, but am no more so deeply involved.
There is still no response, and yet I don't feel so
painful.  I am very confident that there will be no more
crush in the very near future.  Is it a sign of maturity?

Maturity is a word we Chinese abuse.  'He is quite mature.
She is too childish.'  We like to judge people
according to the level of so-cal

It Was a Sunny Day.(2009-12-07 01:08)

It was a sunny day.

I rejoiced it with thee.

Like a breeze of joy,

your smiles were rippling away.

It was a sunny day.

The world was more beautiful with thee.

Every grass was dancing;

every person was smling sweet

It was a sunny day.

I was totally like in a dream.

Ryan asked everybody a question, 'Please give me a tip in
taking a cab here.  It is so difficult and many people fight for

it.'  This question put me to deep thoughts.  It may be too

trivial to start a new blog post, but I just want to ponder

into the back of the question and find out the different

values/virtues between Chinese and Americans.

Ryan is an expat here in Chengdu.  He is bewildered why
he cannot get a cab easily when everyone else is
fighting rather than practicing 'first come first serve',
which is the more civilized way.  I be
