       Red is the colour most associated with China, the colour of its flag and its politics, of the walls of the Forbidden City and the carpets of the Great Hall of the People. As the colour that traditionally symbolises joy, luck and prosperity, red is also very much a feature of festive occasions such as weddings, births and the New Year celebrations.
