加词的技巧  

 所谓加词就是在汉译中添加必要的词使译文的意思明白无误,有些句子在翻译时需要添词 

 The basic problem is that big cities are no longer functional. A handful of cities ---- New York, San Francisco , maybe Boston---are redefining their roles. But the rest are losing their in society . We don't need them anymore.
